Join us for a film screening of The Sex Worker’s Guide to Parenting documentary & launch of ProMomme Vol 2. on July 23. This is a free community presentation hosted by the Feminist Center for Creative Work.
The venue: The Kult LA
251 Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, United States
Date: Thursday, July 23
Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm
This evening is organized around a viewing party of the Sex Workers’ Guide to Parenting film, which responds to familiar narratives about sex work as a threat to “family values” by dropping us into the lives of 6 parents in the sex industry and the making of ProMomme, a parenting magazine created by the LA-based sex workers of Sex Workers Outreach Project Los Angeles (SWOPLA). Written and directed by Kim Ye, the viewing will be followed by a discussion with the artist, Lauren Levitt, and Lotus Lain (video below).
This event is an extension of Ye’s work, It’s not a whore house, it’s a whore home featuring The Sex Worker’s Guide to Parenting currently on view as part of Radical Kinship exhibition at FCCW, curated by Chloë Flores. You’re also invited to join us for a walk-through of this exhibition at 2PM at with Ye and Flores.
